Opening Hours

Hubble aims to be open 365 days a year. However, due to external circumstances such as staff / SVH availability during holidays and operation costs this is not always possible.

Hubble & Meteor can only be open while a responsible (SVH/manager/board) is present, but since they cannot run the bar by themselves, there are shifts for staff/bartenders throughout the day. The regular schedule for this is: 

Opening – 20:00 Staff (will stay longer to clean the kitchen)kitchen of the day operations) 
20:00 23:00 Early bartenders (by volunteers)
23:00 Closing Late bartenders (by volunteers)

A certified Hubble/Meteor SVH can open the bar outside of the regular opening hours with permission of the current Hubble/Meteor board. 

No alcohol may be served after 02:00 as Hubblethe cafés does not have the required alcohol permit for this. This means that between 2:00 and 8:00 in the morning, no transactions (be it with PIN or on someone’s tab) are allowed. The only exception to this rule is for a closing drink marked as ‘Own Usage’ for the bartenders and SVH of the late shift and a few known guests who helped cleaning. 

For larger parties and events additional staff or bartenders are needed. These events also need approval of the manager and/or Hubble board. If the organizer of this event chooses staff, then staff costs will be charged. If bartenders are chosen, the organizer is in charge of recruiting capable bartenders for the event. The responsible SVH/manager is in charge of keeping the bar running and instructs the bartenders accordingly.
